The most important step in your makeup routine
I have been asked this single question so many times throughout my beauty and skin care career, I wanted to share the answer with you!
"Becky, if you had to sum up one single piece of makeup advice, what would it be?"

My answer is simple but life changing. The most important piece to any single makeup routine. Whether you're going full glam, natural or minimal... WEAR A PRIMER!
Oh, you only want to throw on some mascara? Prime your lashes. You're only going to apply tinted moisturizer? Wear a face primer. Just some shimmer on your lids to brighten your eyes and appear more awake? Eye primer. Lip color? Primer. Seriously, whatever your question... Primer is the answer.
I know it seems simple, and it is. My makeup absolutely does NOT last unless I use a primer. My mascara ends up on my lids and below my eyes, my lip stain will bleed and my foundation fades. Which is why it is my number one piece of advice, always.
There is also beauty in wearing a primer when going completely bare! Primers can minimize shine as well as pores! Some primers also fill in fine lines and wrinkles and reflect light away from creases.
I have tried many different primers over the years and have never been dissatisfied with any of them. Here are a few of my favorite cleaner primers that rank 3 or under on the EWG's Skin Deep scale. If you're unfamiliar, Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep scale ranks products by ingredient toxicity, the lower the score, the lower the concern of ingredients.
Bare face:
Acure Eye Contouring Gel*- this is more skin care product but a must for bare face!
Foundation:
Tarte Poreless Mattifying Primer
NYX Born To Glow Illuminating Primer

Wearing a primer also helps keep your skin and lips moisturized and your lashes from being dry and brittle!
