Nekter Celery Green Juice Vitamix
Updated: May 4
Celery juice can make you cringe (maybe it's an acquired taste?) Here's my best recipe!
I have been practicing my Vitamix #juicing since the start of #quarantine and now after 4 months, although hesitant to admit, I may have it perfected. It's been quite the struggle because I always make it in batches and if it's terrible, I still usually drink it for a few days. #nowaste
I'm not sure if any of you are like me, but when it comes to recipes, I hardly follow. We never eat the same thing twice because something is always replacing something else, or it's served over this instead of that. It keeps things interesting but it's a real bummer when something tastes phenomenal because chances are slim to none it will ever turn out the same again. Cooking this way is one thing, but baking this way I would not suggest. Cooking [to me] is more of an art form, while baking is a science.
Anyway, I am no food blogger but #celeryjuice has so many benefits, it's definitely worth sharing a good recipe over. You can read more about the incredible benefits of celery juice here. One of my favorite advantages is the amount of vitamin k. Vitamin K, often known for quickly healing bruises, promotes proper circulation and AIDS IN BRIGHTENING UNDER EYE CIRCLES. That alone gets me, but it's also high in #antioxidants and helps hydration.
-1/2 bunch of celery
- 1/2 cucumber (skinned)
-1/2 teaspoon of ginger powder
-splash of lemon juice
After putting all of these things (place most blend-able ingredients in first at the bottom of your blender!) in my Vitamix, I fill it with water until everything is completely submerged. Blend, on high, maximum, 10, whatever your highest setting is for about 2 minutes. I can't say that all blenders will juice, because they probably wont, but if you have a #Vitamix or a juicer, you already know you're in the clear.
I like to store my juices in sealed glass jars in the fridge and drink one every morning. I typically plan for 3 days and wouldn't suggest keeping any longer than that. After oxygen exposure juice begins to lose nutrients, so make sure if you're storing our juice you seal them!
The kids aren't always of fan of my celery juice, so I have come up with a vitamix recipe to suit them as well!
2 stalks of celery
handful of grapes
chunk of cucumber (skinned)
1/2 an apple
water to submerge
I don't usually make enough to store this one and it makes enough for 2!
Both of these are much better served over ice. In fact, i'd give it a few minutes to get ice cold and drink it out of a straw. Doesn't everything taste better out of a straw? I am linking my favorite #reusable straws here because they're so very inexpensive, come with 4 different sizes, straw cleaners and straw tips! Also, #ecofriendly and great for the #planet :)
